Forget about thermal shock
Introduction
The application of JBC Preheaters is indispensable for rework on multi-layered PCBAs and/or large ground planes in order to avoid thermal shock and facilitate soldering as well as desoldering processes.
For an optimal result it is necessary to preheat the PCB and its components with controlled temperature profiles within the recommended limit values for each application. JBC Preheaters feature temperature profiles specially designed for this purpose and customizable according to need.
Details of PHNE Preheater for printed circuit boards up to 108x70mm
PHNE is a complete solution for refinishing small printed circuit boards, such as those commonly used in smartphones. It has a heating surface of 108 x 70 mm. It is highly reliable and unmatched in temperature accuracy and PCBA control so no component is damaged.
It has three operating modes:
- Power Mode enables operation at a fixed power level with the possibility of using a protective thermocouple
- Temperature mode maintains the PCBA at a selected temperature, using a control thermocouple and, optionally, protection thermocouples
- The profile mode allows control of the PCBA heating rate using a control and protection thermocouple, without exceeding the recommended limit levels in each application. It has 22 customizable profiles
Two thermocouples can be connected in any of three modes.
Details of PHSE Preheater for 130x130mm printed circuit boards
PHSE is a complete solution for finishing small and medium PCBAs. It has a heating surface of 130 x 135 mm and four TC connections. It is highly reliable and unmatched in temperature accuracy and PCBA control so no component is damaged.
It has three operating modes:
- Power Mode mode enables operation at a fixed power level with the possibility of using a protective thermocouple
- Temperature mode maintains the PCBA at a selected temperature, using a control thermocouple and, optionally, protection thermocouples
- The profile mode allows control of the PCBA heating rate using a control and protection thermocouple, without exceeding the recommended limit levels in each application. It has 22 customizable profiles

PHBE is a complete solution for finishing medium and large PCBAs, such as those commonly used in laptops or PCB panels. It has a heating surface of 360 x 277 mm and four TC connections. Highly reliable and unmatched in temperature accuracy and PCBA control so no component is damaged.
It has three operating modes:
- Power Mode mode enables operation at a fixed power level with the possibility of using a protective thermocouple
- Temperature mode maintains the PCBA at a selected temperature, using a control thermocouple and, optionally, protection thermocouples
- The profile mode allows control of the PCBA heating rate using a control and protection thermocouple, without exceeding the recommended limit levels in each application. It has 22 customizable profiles

PHXLE is used for preheating large PCBAs such as communication boards, boards used in the aircraft industry, etc. and is ideal for repetitive soldering jobs. It has a heating surface of 510 x 610 mm, with 6 independent working zones (255 x 203 mm) that can be switched on/off. It is highly reliable and unmatched in temperature accuracy and PCBA control, so no component is damaged.
It has three operating modes:
- Power Mode mode enables operation at a fixed power level with the possibility of using a protective thermocouple.
- Temperature mode maintains the PCBA at a selected temperature, using a control thermocouple and, optionally, protection thermocouples.
- The profile mode allows control of the PCBA heating rate using a control and protection thermocouple, without exceeding the recommended limit levels in each application. It has 22 customizable profiles.
Up to eight thermocouples can be connected, allowing the operator to operate in any of three operating modes.
